Upon admission, each patient is given a complete physical as well as a psychiatric evaluation, which allows for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
A treatment team process is utilized as the method of care and includes the patient, nurses, social worker, and occupational therapist. Since each patient is unique, we work with them, their family and significant other when setting treatment goals.
After admission, our social worker meets with the patient and family to plan for discharge. The patient’s psychiatrist meets with the treatment team at regular intervals to discuss progress and planning. In addition, the patient’s family and significant other are informed of progress and benefits of the treatment plan. A successful outcome is more readily attained when all parties work together.
Treatment methods include individual and group sessions for:
- Dealing with stress
- Coping
- Social skills
- Medication education
- Relaxation
- Activities
These sessions aid in the best treatment possible by providing a community-like environment where patients receive support from our staff and each other.
After discharge, outpatient follow-up care is essential for complete recovery. Orchard Hall staff will identify the appropriate professional resources and offer a variety of options for each patient. We work with the patient and their outpatient provider to assure a smooth transition.
