Occupational Therapy
The Occupational Therapy department works closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, physical therapists and speech therapists as team members dedicated to improving the health and function of all types of patients. We address physical, emotional, social and cognitive problems using purposeful activity in treatment, as well as verbal instruction and exercise.
We strive to return patients to their former activities, which we call Activities of Daily Living (ADL), in the most independent manner possible.
Individuals who have the following diagnoses are examples of those who may benefit from OT:
CVA (stroke)
Hip and knee replacement
Arthritis
Pediatric development disabilities
Carpal tunnel
Hand/arm injuries
Cognitive disability
Mental illness
