BVHS Nurse Earns Cancer Clinical Trial Award
Blanchard Valley Health System Clinical Research Nurse, Christy Montgomery, RN, has been honored by the Dayton Clinical Oncology Program (DCOP) for her role in entering cancer patients into clinical trials.
The DCOP includes 15 hospitals and has a mission to reduce cancer incidence and mortality through improved treatment and prevention by offering national state-of-the-art cancer research to local communities. Of the 15 participating hospitals in the DCOP, Montgomery is one of the top performing research nurses in enrolling patients in clinical trials as a treatment option.
According to Miki McClain, oncology services manager, “By enrolling patients into clinical trials we are able to offer cutting edge treatment right here in Findlay. Being part of the DCOP and earning this award shows our commitment to the future of cancer care and continued advancement of treatment.”
The Blanchard Valley Health System’s clinical research program has received DCOP awards for the past five years.
