ACLS Advanced Life Support New Provider

This course emphasizes the importance of basic life support (BLS), integration of effective BLS with ACLS interventions, and effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.

The course is for professionals who respond to cardiovascular emergencies and require an initial or renewal ACLS Provider Course Completion Card.

In the classroom, students engage in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA ACLS Instructor to complete ACLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

Class guidelines meet or exceed the Current (2010) ECC standards.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS, and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.
