Blanchard Valley Health System has initiated COVID-19 testing for all patients coming to the system’s hospitals for scheduled surgeries and procedures. This is a change from the previous practice of testing only those exhibiting symptoms of the disease and referred by their primary care physicians.
The hours of operation for pre-surgery and procedure swabbing at both Blanchard Valley Hospital and Bluffton Hospital will be 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend hours will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Please contact your physician to schedule a pre-surgery or procedure swabbing.
The testing center entrance on the Blanchard Valley Hospital campus will remain the same, located at 1900 South Main Street, Findlay. At the Bluffton Hospital, the drive-up swabbing location will move from the Garau Street entrance to the Emergency Room entrance, under the awning. There will be orange traffic cones and signs directing the patients, in order to safely accommodate emergency medical service traffic.
For all admissions, patients entering the hospital will be asked to wear a mask or be provided one at the front desk. For more information and visitor guidelines, please visit bvhealthsystem.org.
