"Upfront with the Community"

It is an honor to have been chosen to serve as the new President and CEO of Blanchard Valley Health System. Months ago, when I first visited the campus, the vision of the organization really made an impression on me. " Extraordinary people. Exceptional care.” It aligned with my personal philosophy that health care is “caring people caring for people.”

In the short time that I have been at BVHS, it is evident there is an extraordinary team here, dedicated to providing the highest quality and safest care to our patients. These experienced providers care for patients as if they were their own family members.

My professional goal is to build on the current foundation of success. As I take the reins from Scott Malaney, I am humbled. BVHS has a strong reputation and I am fully committed to continuing and enhancing the care of which our patients have come to expect.

I believe my new role also aligns with my personal goals of being active in a close-knit community. I enjoy Findlay’s small-town feel while also having the excitement of being a growing city. My wife, Lisa, is a registered dietitian, and together we have two grown children. Hanna is a junior at Grand Valley State University (Allendale, Michigan) majoring in social work, and Sydney is a freshman at Butler University (Indianapolis, Indiana) majoring in psychology/neurosciences. My family and I look forward to joining the community and becoming involved in the many activities.

At BVHS, we are also planning for the future. If you have not already heard, we have entered a new collaborative partnership with the University of Findlay that will positively impact current and future students, BVHS associates, University of Findlay faculty and staff and the economic development of our region. To learn more about this exciting venture, please view our news release.

As for the COVID-19 pandemic, I am pleased to say there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We are in the process of getting a vaccine distributed to our associates and community. This initiative is being achieved through the coordination and hard work of the BVHS team and the local public health departments for the counties we serve. If you have questions regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, we offer vaccine resources and information through

Thank you for welcoming my family and me to the health system and community. I want to assure you that the quality of care you have received at BVHS will continue. The success of our organization is not only built on the dedication of our nurses, doctors, associates and volunteers, but equally important…the support of our community.
