I want to share with you how excited I am about the progress of our new Blanchard Valley Hospital (BVH) inpatient pharmacy and the Center for Medication Management (CMM), the outpatient pharmacy for our community. This innovative project will offer more convenience to customers as well as additional services.
During the planning of this initiative, our associates had the opportunity to provide input into the development of the layout and design of the pharmacy. The team, comprised of subject matter experts from across the health system, used a mock 3D layout to evaluate workflow and processes.
The pharmacy will provide a more convenient way for community members to fill prescriptions. Our outpatient pharmacy will continue to be open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. For your convenience, refills can be made by using our BVHS online system. An automated, after-hours prescription refilling system can also be accessed by calling 419.429.7002. Also, patients who currently need prescriptions or their pharmacy needs met, can continue to receive guidance and care at BVH throughout the construction process.
The CMM is an outpatient pharmacy program available for all community members, that provides complete disease management. Here, each patient works one-on-one with a pharmacist to develop a program based on their individual needs. As part of the CMM, patients will receive information about their condition, learn how the medication affects recovery, and have medication dosages monitored/adjusted in collaboration with their physician.
The construction of our pharmacy is expected to be completed by the fall of 2021. Our family of professionals is consistently looking for new ways in which we can provide exceptional care!
I would like to close in saying that I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable Independence Day, spent together with friends and family.
