Tracy Spoors Named May DAISY Award Winner

Congratulations to Tracy Spoors, RN, who works on the sixth floor of Blanchard Valley Hospital, for being named the #TeamBVHS May DAISY Award recipient!

Tracy was nominated by her patient’s wife. This patient had two strokes in his sleep and was diagnosed with a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO), also known as a hole in the heart, which he had unknowingly had since birth. Tracy provided the couple with detailed explanations and compassionate care, making them feel truly cared for, which also made for an easier hospital stay.

The patient’s wife stated the following:

“Tracy was professional, informative, and kind. She communicated with us every step of the way. She went over her notes with us in detail and explained to the best of her knowledge what was going on. We looked forward to seeing her on the second night of our stay. Though we knew she had other patients to tend to, she really made us feel that she was here just for us and that she would help us get to the bottom of our questions and concerns. She just went above and beyond for us, and we really appreciate her for it.”
