Blanchard Valley Obstetrics & Gynecology is pleased to offer exceptional patient care provided by highly skilled physicians and providers in the obstetrical and gynecological field. From the beginning of your gynecological care through childbearing and later years, we are here to meet your needs.

The providers at Blanchard Valley Obstetrics & Gynecology offer annual well checks and family planning services, as well as care for the following:

  • Bladder problems
  • High-risk pregnancies
  • Infertility
  • Menopausal problems
  • Menstrual disorders
  • Sexual health
  • Sexually transmitted diseases
  • Routine pregnancies

For many conditions, our providers are able to offer in-office procedures for your convenience. A few of these include:

  • Biopsy: A biopsy is a surgical procedure that removes a small piece of tissue, which is then examined under a microscope to check for cancer cells. Several types of biopsies are available to patients, and our team will work to decide which type is best for you.
  • Hysteroscopy: This procedure allows our experienced providers to examine a patient’s uterus and help determine the cause of abnormal bleeding and other related symptoms. Our team can use this procedure to diagnose a patient and move forward with the best possible treatment option for uterus-related disorders and diseases.
  • Implantable contraceptive device placement: An implantable contraceptive device is a small rod inserted into the patient’s arm and releases hormones into the body to prevent pregnancy. This form of birth control is highly effective, lasts for years and is convenient for those who do not want to take routine birth control such as the pill.
  • Injectable contraception: These injections contain progestin, a hormone released in the ovaries each month. By injecting this hormone every three months, ovulation is halted and cervical mucus is thickened, making it more difficult for sperm to pass through.
  • Ultrasound: Ultrasound imaging involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Ultrasound examinations do not use ionizing radiation (as used in X-rays), and it is a non-invasive way to examine a patient’s internal organs as well as the organs of an unborn child.
  • Uterine ablation: This procedure is used to assist women with heavy menstrual bleeding. By removing a thin layer of the uterus, our experienced providers can stop or reduce heavy menstrual flow, giving the patient more freedom during her menstrual cycle.

Although our providers offer a wide variety of care services, the most common services our team provide involve pregnancies. At Blanchard Valley Obstetrics & Gynecology, our providers are here for you through your pregnancy and long after your baby is born. Having a baby is a life-changing event, so it is completely normal to feel a bit overwhelmed. However, if your spirits are down despite your new bundle of joy, it may be a sign of postpartum depression. Take our online assessment to help determine your risk.
