We’ve all had our share of cuts and blisters. Maybe you’ve even had an injury that required stitches. In most cases, you heal quickly and continue your daily routine.
But what if a wound doesn’t heal? That’s when Wound Care Solutions is here for you.
Wound Care Treatment
We provide a full range of care for non-healing wounds that can be caused by:
- Diabetes
- Vascular disease
- Surgery
- Radiation injury
- Burns
- Pressure ulcers
- Soft tissue infections
- Bone infections
- Crush injuries
- Gangrene
- Skin tears or lacerations
The first step in treating a wound is to understand why it isn’t healing on its own. From there, our wound care specialists will create your personalized treatment plan, monitor your progress, and do whatever they can to aid you in the healing process.
Your personalized wound treatment plan may include:
-
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
-
Specialized wound cleansing
-
Wound and blood cultures or biopsies
-
Antibiotic management program
-
Nutrition assessment and counseling
-
Special needs (beds, mattresses, seat cushions, footwear)
Caring for your Wounds
Your wound will heal faster if you commit to and participate in your treatment. Our wound care specialists will teach you how to care for your wound at home, change dressings, and prevent infections and injuries. If you have any questions, we’re just a phone call away.
Keeping appointments is critical. Canceling treatment can delay the healing process!
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Your wound care physician may recommend hyperbaric oxygen therapy as part of your treatment.
For this therapy, the patient is surrounded with 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber. This increases the amount of oxygen in the patient’s blood, healing wounds from the inside out. In addition, this therapy can encourage the growth of new blood vessels, improve circulation and prevent future problems. Each therapy session lasts about two hours.
Most patients don’t experience any discomfort with hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The only physical sensation you may feel is a slight pressure on the eardrum when the chamber is pressurized, similar to what you may feel when flying in an airplane.
