Thamer Sartawi, MD Joins Blanchard Valley Health System as an Interventional and Critical Care Pulmonologist

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) is pleased to welcome Thamer Sartawi, MD, a board-certified interventional and critical care pulmonologist, to its team of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Dr. Sartawi holds multiple prestigious certifications that reflect his extensive expertise in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Critical Care Medicine, the American Board of Pulmonary Medicine, and the American Board of Internal Medicine, demonstrating his advanced knowledge and proficiency in these specialized fields. Additionally, he has earned his Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certification, signifying his qualifications to practice medicine in the United States after rigorous training and assessment. These certifications underscore Dr. Sartawi’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of medical care and continuously advancing his skills to provide exceptional treatment for his patients.

Dr. Sartawi brings a wealth of experience in pulmonary and critical care medicine, having trained and practiced in diverse medical settings across the United States and internationally. He was an interventional pulmonology fellow at Louisiana State University-Shreveport, following his fellowship in critical care at Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis University. Before that, he completed a pulmonary fellowship at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, IL, and an internal medicine residency at Seton Hall University School of Health and Medical Sciences, Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ.

Dr. Sartawi’s medical journey began in Jordan, where he served as a medical house officer at Shemeisani Hospital in Amman. He then worked as a primary care provider with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) in Mafraq, Jordan, providing essential medical care to underserved populations. His diverse training and hands-on experience in pulmonology, critical care, and internal medicine reflect his dedication to advancing patient care and medical education.
