Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) is pleased to welcome Natalie Cagle, DO, to the Psychiatric Center of Northwest Ohio. The addition of Dr. Cagle to this expert team of healthcare professionals demonstrates BVHS’s commitment to promoting mental health and wellness in the community.

Dr. Cagle is a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating mental and behavioral health conditions. She assists patients in enhancing their mental well-being through medication, psychotherapy, and other treatments. Previously, Dr. Cagle worked as an attending psychiatrist at the Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia. There, she treated patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, in an emergency department. She also provided care in outpatient clinics and the inpatient psychiatry unit, giving her a diverse and comprehensive practice treating individuals from various backgrounds.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Natalie Cagle to BVHS,” said Myron D. Lewis, MSW, MBA, FACHE, president and chief executive officer. “Her expertise in psychiatry and dedication to compassionate, patient-centered care will enhance the behavioral health services we provide to our community.”

Additionally, Dr. Cagle has provided education and care recommendations to other providers who treat pregnant and postpartum individuals and their children through the Virginia Mental Health Access Program for Moms+. This state-funded consult line allowed Dr. Cagle to work with a range of healthcare professionals, including obstetricians, gynecologists, primary care providers, midwives, pediatricians, and psychiatrists, to ensure patients received the high-quality mental healthcare they needed. Dr. Cagle’s experience collaborating with other providers to enhance the overall patient care experience will allow her to excel in her role at BVHS, an organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care.

“I am proud to join BVHS, where I can partner with patients of all ages to support their mental health,” said Dr. Cagle. “My goal is to provide compassionate psychiatric care that helps patients and families thrive. Together, we can build pathways to healing, resilience, and hope."

Dr. Cagle earned her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, graduating Cum Laude. She subsequently obtained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. Following this, she completed a psychiatric residency at Virginia Tech Carilion Clinic, where she was a member of the Psychiatry Wellness Committee and was elected as the intern class representative of the Program Evaluation Committee. She was also awarded as the Psychiatric Intern of the Year in 2021. Currently, Dr. Cagle is a member of the American Association for Emergency Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association.
