Drug-Testing & Pre-employment Requirements
Pre-Employment Contingencies at Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS)
Before final consideration for employment at BVHS, all candidates must fulfill a set of pre-employment contingencies (at no personal expense), which include:
Drug Screening: BVHS administers a comprehensive 10-panel drug screen for all prospective employees. It tests for substances such as marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, and more.
It's essential to note that, while Ohio has legalized medical and recreational marijuana, a positive test for marijuana will still result in disqualification from employment, irrespective of possessing a medical marijuana card. Marijuana can cause a positive drug screen for upward to six weeks following exposure/utilization.
Background Checks: To ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff, BVHS conducts criminal background checks on all prospective associates before hiring. Depending on the role, these checks are conducted either through a third-party public record search or by submitting fingerprints to the BCII/FBI. We cannot accept background checks done outside of our process.
