Blanchard Valley Hospital and Bluffton Hospital play essential roles in caring for the needs of the community. Our Emergency services are provided by a team of board certified emergency medicine physicians who work in cooperation with other in-house specialists to provide efficient, quality treatment.
For health issues that occur outside normal physician office hours, but are not a true medical emergency, we also offer urgent care facilities for adults and children.
Emergency services at Bluffton Hospital, offers an "Emergency Room 20-Minute Promise," patients will see a physician or provider within 20 minutes of registration.
From check-in to care, patients receive prompt evaluation and treatment from our experienced emergency team. We are committed to delivering high-quality care to our patients.With short wait times and a compassionate team focused on your needs, Bluffton Hospital makes it easier to receive the emergency care you need—when you need it most.
When to visit the Emergency Department
There are times when the need for emergency care is not clear. When in doubt, do not hesitate to seek medical attention, as it is always better to receive an examination than to ignore a potential problem.
If you or a loved one experiences any of the symptoms below, seek emergency care immediately:
- Chest pain, upper abdominal pain or pressure
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Fainting or feeling faint
- Dizziness, sudden weakness or sudden change in vision
- Severe pain anywhere in the body
- Severe or persistent vomiting
- Suicidal or homicidal feelings
- Uncontrollable bleeding
Should you experience an emergency like the ones listed above, call 911 immediately. Do not attempt to drive to the hospital! The highly knowledgeable EMS team can begin administering much-needed care and direct you to a health care facility as quickly as possible.
