Cardiac Catheterization
In most cases, heart attacks are treated immediately through cardiac catheterization and, if necessary, further procedures are implemented to clear the blocked artery to allow blood to flow back into the heart. The Jane & Gary Heminger HeartCare Center features the latest equipment and technology needed to support our skilled cardiologists in the following procedures:
- Cardiac catheterization to diagnose coronary artery disease
- Cardiac catheterization with intervention, including balloon angioplasty and angioplasty with stent insertion (a stent is a wire mesh tube that maintains open blood flow in a diseased vessel)
- Pacemaker insertion
The cardiologists performing these delicate procedures at BVHS are all board-certified and ready to care for you.
