Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

HeartCode PALS Online & Instructor-Led (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Course Description: HeartCode PALS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s PALS Course. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode PALS and then complete a hands-on skills session with a BVH AHA PALS Instructor at a HeartCode compatible manikin.

The 2020 Guidelines HeartCode uses a personalized adaptive algorithm that sets students on the most efficient path to mastery. Students follow a continuously adapting learning path personalized by their own inputs: their performance and their self-reported confidence level related to each probing question. The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probing questions, and Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs).

Students must successfully complete both the online portion and the hands-on session to receive a PALS Provider course completion eCard.

Who Can Take This Course?: Healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and respiratory therapists must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a PALS course.

Course Length: Online course & classroom instruction variable based on experience.

Continuing Education: Varies base on the profession. Please visit cpr.heart.org for more information.

Course Notes: The HeartCode PALS certification must be renewed every two years.  This course provides the student with a valid PALS provider card valid for two years. Cards are provided to the student upon completion of the course.

Online Notes: eLearning account and assignment will be available within 24 hours of registration. You will receive two emails from RQI Partners. The first email is to create your account password. The second email is to confirm your assignment has been activated on your account allowing for you to start your course.

Classroom Notes: Please contact the Training Center Coordinator at nbower@bvhealthsystem.org to schedule your hands-on skills after completing your online course. There are several hands-on sessions each week for your convenience.

Course Cost: $179.00 per student.
