Advanced Cardiac Life Support Education Classes For Medical Professionals
Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) hosts cardiac life support classes available for medical professionals only: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
These classes are completed through our Resuscitation Quality Improvement Program (RQI®). These can be conducted with or without an instructor. To register for a class, please complete the form below.
BLS: $65 per student, ACLS: $200 per student, PALS: $250 per student.
Additionally, there is an instructor-led version of Basic Life Support - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS-CPR) classes available. Please visit the BVHS events page here. This class is open to any community member, costing $65 per student.
If you are not a medical professional and would like to register First Aid CPR & Automated External Defibrillator (AED) classes, please visit the BVHS events page to register. This class is also open to any community member, and costing $75 per student.

Anyone attending AHA training may be subject to the COVID-19 pre-screening assessment process for patients/visitors entering the facility and must wear a mask.
BLS CPR- HeartCode (Basic Life Support)
HeartCode BLS CPR Online & Hands-on portion (Basic Life Support)
Course Description: The HeartCode BLS for Healthcare Providers Course consists of online and classroom instruction and covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation (AED).
HeartCode BLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s BLS Course. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode BLS and then complete a hands-on skills session with a BVH AHA PALS Instructor at a HeartCode compatible manikin.

Course Length: Online course variable based on experience & classroom instruction approximately 1 hour.

Course Notes: The HeartCode BLS certification must be renewed every two years. This course provides the student with a valid BLS for HCP card valid for two years. Cards are provided to the student upon completion of the course.
Online Notes: Online course links will be provided after course registration.
Classroom Notes: Certification of online course completion is required before classroom instruction.
Course Cost: $65.00 per student.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
HeartCode PALS Online & Instructor-Led (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Course Description: HeartCode PALS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s PALS Course. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode PALS and then complete a hands-on skills session with a BVH AHA PALS Instructor at a HeartCode compatible manikin.
The 2020 Guidelines HeartCode uses a personalized adaptive algorithm that sets students on the most efficient path to mastery. Students follow a continuously adapting learning path personalized by their own inputs: their performance and their self-reported confidence level related to each probing question. The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probing questions, and Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs).
Students must successfully complete both the online portion and the hands-on session to receive a PALS Provider course completion eCard.
Who Can Take This Course?: Healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and respiratory therapists must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a PALS course.
Course Length: Online course & classroom instruction variable based on experience.
