Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear medicine scanning provides high-quality images that describe both the nature and precise location of cardiovascular disease. This testing helps our heart specialists at BVHS accurately diagnose conditions such as heart disease and cancerous tumors.
Those undergoing a nuclear medicine scan are injected with a safe, radioactive substance which travels through the bloodstream. The equipment then records the radioactive emissions and the device’s CT scanner takes pictures of your anatomy to pinpoint disease. By allowing our specialized physicians to assess the aggressiveness of disease, nuclear medicine scanning helps to ensure the most appropriate treatment plan is created for the best possible outcome.
