After the birth of your baby, we want to support parents in ensuring healthy growth and development. If moms choose to breastfeed, our lactation consultants are here to answer questions and calm any concerns. We offer breastfeeding support group meetings both virtual and at Blanchard Valley Hospital, and we’re available by phone anytime we are needed.

Mental Health Support Appointments
Psychiatric Center of Northwest Ohio, part of Blanchard Valley Health System, specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental, addictive and emotional disorders. Utilizing treatments including psychological tests, medications and therapy, the medical professionals at the Psychiatric Center helps patients and their families cope with stress and crises. Maternal Opiate Medical Support Program
Blanchard Valley Health System, in collaboration with community agencies A Renewed Mind, Century Health and Full Circle, along with the providers at Blanchard Valley Obstetrics & Gynecology, has established the Maternal Opiate Medical Support (MOMS) project for mothers who struggle with opioid dependence.
Maternal Mental Health Hotline
The U.S. Health and Human Services Department’s Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) offers a maternal mental health hotline that is confidential and toll-free for new moms experiencing mental health challenges. Those who contact the hotline can receive a range of support including brief interventions from trained counselors, as well as community-based and telehealth providers as needed.
Moms can call or text 1.833.9.HELP4MOMS (1.833.943.5746) in English and Spanish to connect with a counselor at no charge. TTY Users can use a preferred relay service or dial 711 and then 1.833.943.5746.
