Be Aware of Your Breast Health
• Know your risk: Learn your family health history and talk to your doctor about your personal risk of breast cancer
• Get screened: Have a mammogram and clinical breast exams
• Make healthy lifestyle choices: Maintain a healthy weight, exercise, limit alcohol, limit post-menopausal hormone use and breastfeed, if you can.
• Understand what is normal for you!
See your health care provider if any of these breast changes occur:
• Lump, hard knot or thickening
• Swelling, warmth, redness or darkening
• Change in size or shape of the breast
• Dimpling or puckering of the skin
• Itchy, scaly, sore or rash on the nipple
• Pulling in of your nipple or other parts of the breast
• Sudden nipple discharge
• New pain in one spot that doesn’t go away
