Support the Foundation

Events & Campaigns

The Health Foundation is currently seeking support for the following:

Emergency Response Fund

Blanchard Valley Health System appreciates the individuals, organizations and community groups who are coming forward to offer donations toward the COVID-19 pandemic response. If you wish to help in with the COVID-19 response, consider donating toward our Emergency Response Fund. Your donations will be directed toward Blanchard Valley Health System’s highest priority needs during this challenging time. Together, we are stronger when we each do our part.

The Armes Family Cancer Care Center Endowment

The Armes Family Cancer Care Center provides a full spectrum of enhanced cancer care on the BVHS community campus of EasternWoods. Opened in October of 2015, Phase II of the campaign was launched with a focus toward raising an additional $1M to ensure the facility will always encompass the technology and programming needed to provide the best possible care. Nearly $460,000 has been raised to date toward this goal.

Charity Care Fund

Uncompensated charity care to those served by BVHS is an area of continued uncertainty and concern. As a not-for-profit organization, we turn no one away due to inability to pay.  Donations to this fund help to ease the financial burden of providing access to care for many who otherwise would not be able to afford it.

Dimling Wellness Endowment

The purpose of the fund is to provide programs and services focused on wellness and a healthy mind, body, and spirit. The objective is to address the whole individual in alignment with BVHS’s mission, caring for a lifetime. The intention is to stay on the leading edge of positive healing and preventive measures to help prevent or minimize dementia, diabetes, depression, and many other ailments and diseases. The endowment is a grant funding source allowing wellness opportunities to evolve with the changing needs of our community members.

Younger Goodnight Moon Endowment

Blanchard Valley Health System proudly supports childhood literacy by sending home the book Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown with each of the 1,500 babies born every year at Blanchard Valley Hospital and Bluffton Hospital. Mr. Chuck Younger established this endowment in honor of his wife, Mariann and her love of literacy. Help sustain this project in perpetuity by supporting the Younger Good Night Moon Endowment. A $100,000 endowment will annually support the Goodnight Moon books needed for each child.

The Center for Simulation & Clinical Education Excellence

BVHS is developing a simulation lab to provide lifelike scenarios using robotic mannequins for medical staff to train in a safe environment. The cutting edge training facility will transform Associate education and allow professionals from various departments to deliver consistent procedures together providing exceptional care. Our community will benefit from the Center for Simulation, which will improve patient outcomes, increase patient safety, and expand quality staff recruitment and retention.

Medical Equipment/Technology

State of the art equipment and technology not only enhances our ability to deliver the very best health care, but also helps in attracting and retaining the best physicians and other health care professionals. These needs are ongoing and donations to this fund support us in our quest for excellence.

Caughman Health Center Endowment

You can help address the health needs and wellness programing for area residents who struggle to meet their basic day-to-day expenses, let alone their health needs. With the number of low-income and uninsured individuals rapidly escalating, your gifts matter more than ever. The $1M endowment fund will help support patient education and subsidize the health expenses of those who utilize the Caughman Health Center, a BVHS-owned doctor’s office whose mission is to provide continuity of care to anyone in Hancock County regardless of their ability to pay. The Endowment has raised more than $500,000 so far.

The Women’s Center of Bluffton Hospital Endowment

Located within Bluffton Hospital, the Women’s Center of Bluffton Hospital is a center of excellence that features measurably elite diagnosis and treatment of women’s health issues. The Center features gynecological surgery including robotics and ancillary testing. Bluffton Hospital remains a critical access hospital for the community. This endowment will continue to support ongoing needs for the Women’s Center.

Julien A. Faisant Adult Day Center/ Alzheimer’s Care Endowment

We have an increasing number of local elderly who are experiencing memory loss, dementia or Alzheimer’s.  Birchaven Village, a subsidiary of our health system, provides safe, enjoyable and meaningful Adult Day Care experiences for dementia patients at the Julien A. Faisant Center, giving their family respite from 24/7 care responsibility. Over $265,000 of the $500,000 goal of building a fund to allow for financial assistance for elderly patients in need has been raised so far.

Bridge Home Health & Hospice

Donations to Bridge Hospice assist us in meeting the end-of-life care needs of the communities we serve.  Private gifts not only help cover the cost of charity care, but also allow Bridge to provide valued services beyond the basic hospice care covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance plans. Services such as massage therapy, community education and bereavement programs, volunteer services and two state of the art hospice care centers are made possible by the generosity of our donors.
