Support the Foundation

Events & Campaigns

The Health Foundation is currently seeking support for the following:

Bluffton Hospital Women's Center Capital Campaign

The Women's Center of Bluffton Hospital, a $4.5 million expansion and renovation project within Bluffton Hospital, will create a center that features elite diagnosis and treatment of women's health issues. The Center will feature gynecological surgery including robotics, as well as a pelvic pain center, expansion of existing services in obstetrics and ancillary testing, cosmetic surgery and a medical spa. Current Bluffton Hospital services will be maintained. Construction will begin in 2016 with expected completion in 2017.

The Armes Family Cancer Care Center Capital Campaign

Nearly 12,000 people in Findlay and surrounding communities are currently living with cancer, necessitating a cancer care center that provides a full spectrum of enhanced services within the easily identifiable, centralized community campus of EasternWoods. Your support to The Armes Family Cancer Care Center capital campaign of $2 million and the $500,000 endowment for sustainability will ensure the community benefit of having complete cancer care conveniently close to home.

Charity Care Fund

Uncompensated charity care provided to those served by BVHS continues to rise. As a not-for-profit organization, we turn no one away due to inability to pay. Donations to this fund help to ease the financial burden of providing access to care for many who otherwise would not be able to afford it.

Medical Equipment/Technology

State-of-the-art equipment and technology not only enhances our ability to deliver the very best health care, but also helps in attracting and retaining the best physicians and health care professionals. These needs are on-going and donations to this fund support us in our quest for excellence.

Caughman Health Center Endowment

You can help address the health needs of area residents who struggle to meet their basic day-to-day expenses, let alone their health care requirements. With the number of low-income and uninsured individuals continuing to escalate, your gifts matter more than ever. The goal of a $500,000 endowment fund will help support patient education and subsidize the health expenses of those who utilize the Caughman Health Center, a Blanchard Valley Hospital-owned doctor’s office whose mission is to provide continuity of care to anyone in Hancock County regardless of their ability to pay.

Julien A. Faisant Adult Day Center/Alzheimer’s Care Endowment

Many of our local elderly experience memory loss, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Birchaven Village, a subsidiary of our health system, provides safe, enjoyable and meaningful adult day care experiences for dementia patients at the Julien A. Faisant Adult Day Center, giving their family respite from 24/7 care responsibility. The goal of building a $500,000 endowment fund will allow for financial assistance for elderly patients in need.

Bridge Hospice

Donations to Bridge Hospice assist us in meeting the end-of-life care needs of the communities we serve. Private gifts not only help cover the cost of charity care, but also allow Bridge to provide valued services beyond the basic hospice care covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance plans. Services such as massage therapy, community education, bereavement programs, volunteer services and two hospice care centers are made possible by the generosity of our donors.

Nursing Education Fund

This fund was created to provide educational opportunities for professional nurses at BVH and Bluffton Hospital. Whether funding individual conference participation, certification for nursing specialization, pursuit of advanced degrees in the health care field or engaging nursing speakers to benefit large groups of staff nurses, your contributions will be making a wise investment in the future of your community’s health.

Are there other areas where you would like your gift to make an impact? We are happy to discuss this with you! Call us at 419.423.5457.
