Scott Edwards

Patient Scott Edwards

Scott Edwards and his two brothers were born and raised in Bluffton, Ohio. Scott worked at the family furniture store, Basinger Furniture, and eventually opened his own wallpaper and drapery store which he operated for six years. He retired in 2011 after 25 years as site manager for Family Dollar in Bluffton.

An active member of the Bluffton community, Scott was sidelined on September 10, 2016 when he told his wife, Joyce, to call 911. He just “didn’t feel right” while resting at home after watching his granddaughter’s soccer game. Following a trip to the hospital and suggested follow up with a cardiologist, his daughter, a nurse with Blanchard Valley Medical Associates, sent him to Dr. Dave Meier for an EKG. Upon seeing the results, Dr. Meier placed a stint in his heart and Scott began the cardiac rehab program at the Heminger HeartCare Center.

Today, Scott continues with cardiac rehab and Dr. Meier continues to care for Scott, his heart and his family. And, Scott is back to doing the things he loves – spending time with family, playing the organ for both the Lutheran and the Methodist churches in Bluffton and living life to the fullest.
