Karen S. Jones Nursing Certification Scholarship
Karen S. Jones, past vice president of patient care services for Blanchard Valley, is offering a scholarship to BVHS nurses for a review course or certification exam.
Standards for Determining Eligibility of Applicant
- Entering at least the sophomore year of an accredited Registered Nursing program in pursuit of an advanced degree or certification
- The applicant's permanent address must be in an area served by Blanchard Valley Health System
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Coursework must be for academic credit towards a degree in nursing (special consideration will be given to applicants with goals/interest in Critical Care specialties).
- Preference given to applicants demonstrating financial need
- The award must be used within the calendar year, or it will be forfeited
Scholarship Award Maximum
Typically $500 per year for tuition, fees, books, and supplies only. Money will only be for expenses not reimbursed or provided for by other sources.
Application Information
All applications must be completed no later than April 1. The applicant will complete the designated scholarship form.

Award applicants will be notified in writing of the committee’s decision by May 31.
