Labor & Delivery
LDRP Rooms (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
Blanchard Valley Hospital offers spacious LDRP rooms that allow you to remain in one birthing suite during labor and the birth of your baby. You are welcome to have a family member or friend in the LDRP room as your support person - we encourage you to take an active role in the birthing experience.
Comfort Measures During Labor
Laboring mothers are offered a range of options for pain relief such as hydro-therapy, pain medications and epidurals. Additional comfort options include the use of a peanut ball, labor ball, squat bar and rocking chair. Your care team will support and guide you through your labor process.
Pediatric Hospitalists
BVHS is proud to have specially trained pediatric hospitalists available 24 hours a day for high-risk deliveries, as well as any situation when a patient’s baby might need specialized care.
Visitation
We understand that the birth of a baby is a special time that parents may wish to share with family and friends, however, we ask that you limit your guests, including your spouse or significant other, to three or fewer during labor and delivery.
At Blanchard Valley Hospital, each person visiting during your time in our obstetrics department will need to use the intercom located outside the maternity area to ask the staff for entrance into the unit. Once they have entered, they will be given a badge to wear while they visit. Your safety and the safety of your baby are our top priorities.
