Collaborative Care Excellence with a Patient Focus

Your cancer care is provided by an entire team of cancer experts accredited by the Commission on Cancer, meeting regularly to discuss each case from diagnosis through treatment and on to survivorship. Our team actually plans your recovery and survivorship from the very first conversation, in collaboration with team members across the entire Blanchard Valley Health System of care, such as gastroenterologists, gynecologists, pulmonologists and urologists. Primary care providers and clinical specialists are integral to the team, as most often, they identify cancer through routine exams or screenings. That is why it is so important to see your primary care physicians regularly, alerting them of any concerns or new symptoms.

Additionally, BVHS is the first Ohio-based health-care organization to join the Mayo Clinic Care Network - giving BVHS providers special access to Mayo Clinic’s advanced medical knowledge, research and cancer expertise.

We’ll explain your care every step of the way, making sure questions are answered and our patients understand what to expect during care and after treatment is completed. Our goal is your goal – to beat cancer and get on with your life.

Minimally Invasive Surgery for Improved Recovery

Many minimally invasive surgical techniques are available at BVHS, which provide smaller incisions, reduced scarring and faster healing. In addition to these advanced minimally invasive techniques, we also offer daVinci robotic-assisted surgery capabilities as part of the Precision Surgery Program at BVHS for kidney, prostate, colon and urologic cancer surgery. This advanced precision allows our surgical team to use specially designed robotic features with precise camera access for delicate and complex surgeries.
