Cancer care at Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) means you have an entire team of cancer experts and board certified providers fighting for you – and your success. We are personally invested in you – we know your name and the loved ones that will celebrate your recovery. We keep a positive approach to your care and a survivorship mindset,  knowing that outcomes improve when you have family and loved ones surrounding you during treatment and recovery. At BVHS, you can stay close to home and still receive the same national standards of care that you expect.

At BVHS, you can count on a collaborative approach for your care – from diagnosis through survivorship. Your medical oncology team manages your cancer care, working together during tumor board conferences. Additionally, our providers can work together with Mayo Clinic’s internationally acclaimed cancer experts, and have access to clinical trials and advanced resources through our membership in the Mayo Clinic Care Network.

Providing effective treatment is our objective, and we believe in providing a variety of treatment options. BVHS patients may be able to participate in clinical trials - closely monitored studies of new treatments for cancer patients. We have on-site clinical trial nurses that can provide guidance and facilitate participation in locally available clinical trials. No matter the treatment chosen, we collaborate with other health care organizations wherever your care plan is determined and strive to always provide exceptional specialized treatment at BVHS. We actually encourage second options and collaboration with other teams – because your health is our top priority.

Your cancer care includes more than clinical treatment; it includes every aspect of your experience. Our team consists of oncology nurse navigators, financial advocates, social workers, nutritional counseling, physical and lymphedema therapy, support services, palliative care services and spiritual support. Our goal is your goal – to beat cancer and get on with your life.
